We are a haven for healing fragile bodies when improvement is possible and a refuge for nurturing vulnerable spirits when a cure is unattainable.

At Exceptional Care for Children, many medically fragile kids face daily challenges with communication. While complex medical conditions prevent some from speaking, that doesn’t mean they have nothing to say.
The Communication & Connection fund provides specialized communication devices and assistive technology that give our children the ability to express themselves, often for the very first time. With the help of speech-generating devices, eye-gaze systems, and other adaptive tools, children can share their needs, feelings, jokes, and joy with the world around them.
Your gift turns silence into connection. These devices decrease frustration, facilitate learning and socialization, and provide every child an increased sense of independence and dignity. Together, we can provide the gift of communication, giving every child at ECC a voice that can be heard, understood, and celebrated.
