The mission of Amanecer Counseling and Resource center is to see Latinos heal, grow, and thrive, by providing behavioral health and resources that empower individuals and families.

  • There are approximately 43 bilingual behavioral health clinicians in DE!

THAT'S A BILINGUAL THERAPIST TO LATINO POPULATION RATIO OF 1: 2,418!  Compare that with a national average of 1:340 for the English-speaking community!  

  • Amanecer, the only organization in New Castle County providing access to affordable, bilingual, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based behavioral health services, is addressing this shortage by recruiting, training, and hiring bilingual clinical candidates and preparing them for state licensure in Delaware.  
  • Amanecer is committed to providing services to the vulnerable, impoverished, uninsured, and under-insured children, adults, and families who need them most. 

But, we can't do it alone!
 
Your support will help kids like Nick cope with his grief from losing a loved one.  This one-on-one therapy has made a big difference in Nick’s life by preventing him from sinking deeper into depression and has greatly lessened his anxiety.  
 
Your support will help Cecilia who suffered from domestic violence, including emotional, sexual, and physical abuse.  Cecilia receives professional guidance from our counselor, and vital peer support from the other clients in her group. 
 
Your support also helps us meet people where they are in the community - onsite at Alycia and Thomas' school to cope with attention deficit disorder, anger, and grief – while ensuring that their basic needs like shelter, food, and clothing are met.         
 
These are just a few examples of the more than 709 low-income, Spanish-speaking Latino children, adults, and families we served in 2023. 

Your donation today of: 
  • $100 provides one bilingual, trauma-informed counseling & case management session  
  • $250 helps a child receive up to 3 sessions of Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) 
  • $500 covers 5 sessions of crisis therapy to help a victim of crime suffering from trauma
  • $1,000 supports 2 months of training for a bilingual clinical candidate pursuing licensure
  • $1,250 provides 3 sessions of case management to help a single Mom find shelter, and pay for rent, utilities, and food for her and her two children for a month
  • $1,500 provides 3 months of counseling and case management to support an overwhelmed single parent battling severe depression and anxiety
