Bethel Historical Society

Organization Mission:

Bethel Historical Society is a non-profit organization that preserves, promotes, and shares the history, heritage, and culture of Bethel, Delaware. It fosters and inspires the Bethel community and its surrounding regions through education, empowerment, and the maintenance of the Bethel Heritage Museum.

You can donate starting on March 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm

The objective of this Society is the collection and maintenance of facts and artifacts of a historical nature pertaining to Bethel and the immediate area of Western Sussex County, Delaware, and anything significant to American history.
To encourage those interested in local history and things of a historical nature to join the Society.
To conduct programs of a historical and educational nature pertaining to Bethel's history.
The Bethel Historical Society is in the process of obtaining funds to build a closed-in pavilion for
our community and to be a sustainable source of revenue for the historical society.
We do many events throughout the year to keep the history of Bethel alive and to educate the
next generation on the rich history of our quaint shipbuilding town.  In addition to the exhibits and lectures at the museum, we have community picnics, a seasonal Farmer’s Market, Christmas Dinner, a tree lighting event, and special membership gatherings.
