Help Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware's Athlete Mentoring Program!

We are looking to raise $2,000 for our Athlete Mentoring Summer Program. Funds will go towards providing 30 young student-athletes with engaging mentoring and physical fitness experiences.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware’s Athlete Mentor Program (AMP) helps student-athletes balance the mental challenges of academics, athletics, and skill development while preparing them for success after high school. Whether they’re competing in sports, exploring higher education opportunities, or finding an ideal career, students thrive with the guidance of a mentor, especially one who has similar interests and experiences. As former student-athletes themselves, AMP mentors are uniquely qualified to guide students in juggling the demands of school and sports. The Athlete Mentoring Program is centered around a human development approach; providing youth multiple opportunities and access to mental and physical supports to enhance their overall wellbeing. Our organization is well-positioned to follow youth through middle and high school and serve an integral role in assisting young people to graduate on time and become successful members and leaders of our community.


Athlete Mentoring Success Story

Meet Brycen Alleyne, not just a professional football player entering his second season with the XFL, but a dedicated mentor to his younger brother, Brian "BJ" Alleyne Jr.
BJ, a senior at Salesianum High School in Wilmington, DE, has shone brightly both on and off the field. Under Brycen's guidance, BJ has excelled, leading his team to victory as Delaware's 3A State Champs and earning prestigious titles:
      •      Offensive Player of the Year
      •      Gatorade Player of the Year
      •      Max Prep Player of the Year
All while maintaining an impressive GPA of over 3.5! Brycen has been there for BJ every step of the way, proving that mentorship can transform lives. BJ will head to West Point this fall to further his academic and sports career.

Beyond the field, their story is a testament to the power of support, dedication, and the incredible bond between brothers. It's not just about football; it's about building a foundation for success in all aspects of life.
