Organization Mission:

For 72 years, Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) has supported the Delmarva community with lifesaving blood and blood products and helped 1.5 million people and 19 hospitals on the Delmarva Peninsula. 

For 70 years, the Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) has supported the Delmarva community with lifesaving blood and blood products and helped 1.5 million people and 19 hospitals on the Delmarva Peninsula.  We need your financial support to continue helping our community. 

To fulfill our mission, we deploy a fleet of vehicles as part of our blood operations to secure, process, and deliver blood products vital to saving lives. BBD is in dire need of a new Sprinter van that will provide reliable transportation to set up community blood drives, offer convenience to volunteer blood donors, provide emergency blood delivery, and perform other essential activities to help save lives in the Delmarva region.  One Sprinter Van costs $80,000! Your financial gift will enable us to set up community blood drives, ensuring easy access to donate blood.

About Blood Bank of Delmarva

Founded in 1954, Blood Bank of Delmarva is a nonprofit community-based blood center that provides lifesaving blood and blood products to 1.5 million people and 19 hospitals on the Delmarva Peninsula. With donor centers in Delaware (Dagsboro, Dover, Middletown, Newark), Maryland (Salisbury), Pennsylvania (Chadds Ford), and Virginia (eastern shore), we serve our community by meeting the needs of patients, hospitals, and donors with safe, high-quality blood products and related services. 
 
As part of New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe), we proudly serve as a vital community lifeline dedicated to helping patients and advancing global public health through our four-part mission. 
 
  1. Provide the highest quality blood and stem cell products and related medical and consultative services to hospitals and patients. 
  2. Conduct the highest quality, novel, and innovative research in the fields of hematology, blood banking and transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies, thus advancing these fields and positively impacting public health. 
  3. Develop products, technologies, and services in the fields of hematology, blood banking, transfusion medicine, and cellular therapies with the potential to have worldwide humanitarian impact. 
  4. Train the next generation of leaders in each of these fields.
