Send Underserved Youth to Critter Camp
Organization Mission:
The BVSPCA supports every county in Delaware with a local animal shelter and a low-cost veterinary clinic for family pets. The BVSPCA has elevated animal welfare in Delaware and brought the state national recognition as the first no-kill state in the United States. Responsible for the state’s animal services contract since 2015, the BVSPCA shelters and rehomes nearly all of the state’s lost/stray dogs and all seized/cruelty/neglect victims. In total, the organization cares for nearly 70% of the state’s shelter animals, totaling more than 10,000 animals annually. BVSPCA also provides crucial health services, providing more than 16,000 spay/neuter surgeries and more than 13,000 pet exams at its Delaware locations, annually.
Send Underserved Youth to Critter Camp
Our week-long Critter Camp summer day camp gives kids the opportunity to learn about all things animals, from furry to feathered to scaly. Past activities have included yoga with puppies, police K9 demonstrations, pet CPR, exotic animal meets, and reading to shelter cats.
"These camps gave a sense of normalcy and happiness to children who have experienced tremendous trauma.”
-- Missy Palokas, DE CASA Program Director, commenting on last year’s pilot scholarships.
