Camp Arrowhead has been changing lives for nearly 70 years. Maybe it changed yours.
Since 1954, when the Diocese was gifted a western-themed riding and sailing camp on the shores of Rehoboth Bay, the water has shaped who we are. Sailing isn’t just an activity here — it’s a cornerstone of our program. Every camper gets the opportunity to sail on one of our Sunfish, Hobie Waves or Hobie 16’s. Our Sailing Pathfinder program helps our oldest campers rig, launch, and captain these boats themselves — skills that build independence far beyond the water.
Last summer, we were grateful to add new rescue craft and two Hobie Waves to our fleet. But no one can remember the last time we welcomed a new Sunfish — the small, sturdy boats that serve as the foundation of our sailing instruction.
Today, our Sunfish are well-worn and pieced together, still loved but long past their prime.
In 2026, we’re ready to refresh the fleet and give the next generation the strong start they deserve. New Sunfish cost $5,000 each, and we hope to purchase two.
Because every camper deserves that first steady boat… and that first unforgettable sail.
About Camp Arrowhead
Arrowhead is primarily an overnight/day camp for children entering 2nd -11th grade. Since 1955 Arrowhead, has served campers of all faiths and backgrounds with our truly unique decentralized camping program. Scholarships are available to any family able to demonstrate need. Our Retreat Season runs from mid-August through May with many day-trip and overnight options available. We are also an equal opportunity employer.
