CHANGE ACADEMIC TRAJECTORY- HELP US GET 80 NEW LOW  INCOME, BLACK, AND LATIN(X) STUDENTS INTO TOP HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS.

LYTE is requesting funding for our Changing Academic Trajectory program. This program offers students from underserved populations the opportunity to change their life trajectory. LYTE recruits students in seventh grade, providing after-school and Summer programming through eighth grade, to help students attain admissions and when needed, financial aid to top high schools. LYTE leads families through the school choice process and our students apply to an average of five high school programs. LYTE then guides our students through high school offering transition support, academic tutoring, professional development, socio-emotional training, and advocacy support. We presently serve 258 students with an 87% retention rate. LYTE collaborates with the Delaware Department of State in operating a paid internship program where students can save up to $5,000 for college. All but one of our students have gone to college (the exception joined the military).

The project runs from June 2021 through May 2022.

LYTE needs funding to serve more students. Our Summer program will be the largest ever in 2021 and we need teachers and staff to maintain our program quality and help these students the best we can.
