Wisdom Begins with Wonder Do More 24 Delaware 2024

Organization Mission:

To inspire and educate the people of the Delaware Valley in learning about the Science, Space, Technology, Engineering, Earth’s environment and Mathematics (STEM) through the use of our academies, presentations, symposiums, professional development, events and activities and the resources of the Environmental Outpost and the Delaware Discovery Center.

Support the Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation (DASEF) and its mission of serving schools, teachers and communities in Delaware. Your contribution will assist us in providing partial scholarships for children to attend the academy and for purchasing STEM materials to be used in all of our unique programs.  We have graduated over 8,300 children from the academy in the last 35 years and provided programs and events for over 655,000 people.

Thanks to generous supporters and donors like you, we have also made progress on our Delaware Discovery Center on DASEF’s 40-acre site.  We expect to finish and open the first floor for limited  Youth Field Trips and programs in August.  Check our website for construction updates.  Donations will assist us in moving toward expanding our programs and for displays inside the center.

DASEF Vision
To create an exceptional learning environment that inspires children and their families with a sense of appreciation for the earth and its place in the universe.

DASEF History
Founded in 1989, DASEF (Delaware AeroSpace Education Foundation) has established itself as an innovative and progressive organization with the vision and resources required to link the science and technology of earth and space with the education of youth, educators and the public.

For more than 37 years, DASEF has contributed to the academic development of over 675,000 students, educators and others through the delivery of context-based activities consistent with current topics, research, and development. These multi-disciplinary and cooperative learning programs teach in tangible ways the skills of responsible decision making, leadership, teamwork, critical and creative thinking and communication and listening skills.

Educators and youth group leaders throughout the state and region are finding that the non-traditional programs and lessons offered serve as innovative and exciting unifying themes for teaching Science, Space, Technology, Engineering, Earth Systems and Environment, and Mathematics (STEM) as well as exposure to non-traditional careers. Because there are no similar facilities nearby and because of the strong interest in educational issues, DASEF is in an excellent position to bring together leaders from the education and business communities, volunteers, and youth to enhance the science and technology being taught in schools today.

Additionally, through its partnerships with businesses, non-profit organizations, government agencies and military groups throughout the region, DASEF provides a network through which Delaware's economy and intellectual capital can grow and be invested in future generations. With help from its partners, DASEF strives to help create a scientific and technologically literate workforce with members who take pride in the quality of their work and who believe their work can favorably impact society.

DASEF strives to improve the quality of life through its advocacy of education, the environment, and strengthening the workforce.

DASEF vision is driven by the belief that "Wisdom Begins with Wonder." Capitalizing on natural curiosity through activities that include a problem-solving component enriches the applied learning process for participants.
