ITN Southern Delaware believes that seniors and adults with visual impairments in Sussex and Lower Kent Counties deserve QUALITY OF LIFE. Lower Delaware has the highest percentage of adults 65+ in the country and the number only continues to grow as the current population ages and others continue to move into the area to retire. Many don't have family close by to help with the things that become difficult for them as they age, and one of the first and perhaps most difficult steps toward their loss of independence is surrendering the car keys. This often causes family members anguish as their loved ones begin to cancel health and wellness visits and become isolated from the people and activities they have enjoyed throughout their adult lives simply because they either do not want to inconvenience others or do not have a safe, affordable, and convenient means of transportation.

ITN® provides rides 24/7 to medical appointments, local shops and businesses, banks, family and social events, worship services, recreational and Arts activities, and so much more. The non-profit organization provides rides to members at less than 1/2 of their cost to provide them, and primarily exists through partnerships and donations from local practitioners, business owners, and local supporters, foundation grants, car donations, and the occasional endowment.

Do More 4 Seniors 2 Ride funds will be used to keep rides affordable for the many seniors in your community who are on very limited incomes, keep volunteers drivers on the road, and allow ITN to keep technology up-to-date while continuing to grow. The program will provide access to healthcare, daily living needs, appointments, and activities that will support and improve seniors’ overall quality of life and allow them to age in place by remaining independent for as long as possible.

Give seniors "places to go and people to see" and provide family members peace of mind knowing their loved ones are taking care of their health while remaining  safe, active, independent, ...and ultimately HAPPY!  They deserve it!
