Organization Mission:

The Brandywiners strives to produce high quality musical productions and chorale concerts featuring diverse artists who showcase their talents for all to enjoy. The Brandywiners seeks to offer year-round programming that provides unique experiences including Broadway-caliber entertainment while operating with a social-cause focus to support the broader arts community.

The Brandywiners Ltd is a Delaware nonprofit ARTS organization which has provided community entertainment through its 60+ person chorale and annual theatrical productions - since 1932.

As we reflect upon the past year since the 2023 DoMore24 event, we are proud of our many accomplishments and social cause initiatives that have had a positive impact on thousands throughout our community. Some of these include:
  • We held our second annual community Ice Cream Social (lots of fun and we hope to see more and more folks join us later this year).
  • We raised $2,000 in food and monetary donations for Sunday Breakfast Mission.
  • We introduced the community to Brandywiners Second Stage with our inaugural production of RAGTIME THE MUSICAL, held at the Laird Performing ARTS center at Tatnall School.
  • With our Main Stage Production at Longwood Gardens, we presented the popular classic musical, OLIVER, serving thousands of devoted patrons and friends of our organization.
  • We had a spooktacular Halloween/Bonfire/Wagon Ride event at Ramseys Farm.
  • Our chorale performed at many area community centers, Wilmington Blue Rocks, veteran's homes/events, hospitals, and other locations -- spreading good cheer to thousands.
  • We digitized and archived every single Brandywiners photo and program in storage since 1932 in partnership with University of Delaware archivists (a massive project and undertaking, but one that will help preserve the impact of our nonprofit for generations to come).
  • We partnered with Hagley Museum to archive and preserve every Brandywiners photo and all pieces of memorabilia from 1932 to present.
  • We established and implemented important new documents to help advance and guide The Brandywiners Ltd - such as a Cultural Competency policy and a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access statement and committee.
  • We expanded our brand by creating some fun swag items such as t-shirts, pens, water bottles, and more.
  • We donated much needed dollars to area school-based theatre programs to help enrich the student ARTS throughout our community.
  • We presented two beautiful community concerts - by our talented Chorale - in the Spring and Winter - in Wilmington, Delaware (with lots of in-person and virtual attendees).
There's more, but for now, we need you to know that we cannot do all of this without YOU!

We promise that 2024 will be bigger and better as we  present our Brandywiners Second Stage production of RED, HOT, and COLE -— present our Brandywiners Main Stage production of SEUSSICAL ---- expand The Brandywiners Chorale to reach more audiences -— and increase our Grant opportunities to help continue to fund our community programs and services.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we thank you for your friendship, volunteerism, and unwavering support.

Here’s to our 92nd year of commUNITY ARTS in Delaware and the surrounding areas! These are all reasons why we need you to #donate4ARTS.
