Scholarships Matter: Support Goldey-Beacom College Students

March 6–7, 2025 | #DoMore24DE

Did you know that 91% of first-year students at Goldey-Beacom College rely on scholarships and grants, while 61% are first-generation college students? Scholarships make their education possible, empowering them to break barriers and achieve their dreams.

At Goldey-Beacom College, we provide a career-focused, inclusive education that prepares students for real-world success. Our graduates have gone on to become business and community leaders, bank vice presidents, counselors, accountants, HR professionals, IT leaders, entrepreneurs—and so much more.

This Do More 24 Delaware, we ask for your support to help us raise $2,500 for the Goldey-Beacom College Scholarship Fund. Every dollar you give creates opportunities for students to pursue their goals and achieve greater.

Your Impact
When you give to the Goldey-Beacom College Scholarship Fund, you’re helping students like Selena Mayhall ('23 Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology), who shares:

“When I came to Goldey-Beacom, I wasn’t expecting to get a scholarship, but I truly needed it. It meant less assistance on the loan I had to take, so it made it much easier to afford college.”

And students like Maria Bruno ('22 Bachelor of Arts, Media and Communications, '24 MBA, International Business Management), who says:

“My scholarships gave me the opportunity to study here. My scholarships gave me the opportunity to keep playing tennis which is one of the things that I love. It meant I was able to pursue more opportunities for my professional career.”

National Recognition, Local Impact
Goldey-Beacom College is proud to be recognized nationally for the quality of education we provide:

While we celebrate national accolades, our focus remains on making a difference here in Delaware:
  • GBC is proud to be an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution
  • Our SEED Extension Scholarship is 100% institutionally funded, ensuring even more students can access the education they deserve
  • New majors at GBC are selected to support Delaware industry (ex. Fintech & Healthcare)

Your gift supports this vital work and strengthens our ability to provide life-changing opportunities for students right here in our community.

Join Us on March 6–7
From March 6 at 6 PM through March 7 at 6 PM, be part of #DoMore24DE. Your gift—no matter the size—will create real, lasting change. As Ronald “Gene” Lankford, a donor and GBC alumnus, explains:

“Starting the Lankford Family Scholarship provides students who want to be successful in life an opportunity to do so. It’s like an insurance policy to encourage and develop young people.”

Upon arrival, our students are met by faculty who are caring, dedicated and knowledgeable in their respective fields; who motivate their students to realize their full learning potential; and, above all, who represent teaching excellence.

As a teaching-oriented institution, the College emphasizes instructional excellence in the classroom. Our professors engage students with a caring, wholesome, intellectually stimulating learning environment so they may grow as individuals and become worthy, productive members of society. In fact, 100 percent of full-time faculty have terminal degrees and strong ties to their professions with real-world experience. They walk into classrooms fully equipped to serve students who desperately need individualized attention to thrive socially and academically on a college campus.

At GBC, it’s not just the highly-qualified faculty that stands out – the College is committed to providing accessible, high-quality, career-focused education. As the global economy continues to shift, GBC strives to meet the demands of an ever-changing workforce. The College is committed to connecting its graduates with careers in their respective fields.
