About Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids

Mission: Our mission is to inspire healthier lives by providing youth with joyful school gardening experiences and opportunities to eat the garden-fresh vegetables they've grown.

HFHK partners with kindergarten-8th grade Delaware schools to start onsite vegetable garden programs running during the academic day. HFHK's unique program aligns with the science curriculum and provides outdoor hands-on learning opportunities that coincide with gardening tasks for students of all grade levels. Growing cool weather, fast-growing crops, we provide a seed-to-table experience in both the fall and spring. The garden produce is served to students in the school cafeteria for a full "seed-to-cafeteria-table" program.

Our vision is a vegetable garden in every school, leading to generations of healthy families throughout Delaware. Partnering with nearly 50 schools across the state, HFHK has touched the lives of over 21,000 Delaware school kids and helped them grow over 500,000 radishes. Our goal is to put a garden in every interested school in the state. Your donation will support our quest to "Veggie-cate the First State" as we expand our program to additional schools in Kent and Sussex Counties.
