Historic Lewes Farmers Market

Organization Mission:

The Historic Lewes Farmers Market (HLFM) is a nonprofit organization committed to nurturing a vibrant local food system in Delmarva that is sustainable and socially responsible. We bring together our community and farmers that grow our food. We build delivery networks that connect local growers to the community through our producer-only farmers markets and other food access programs. We focus on empowering emerging farmers and educating our community on the importance of preserving local farmland. Our goal is an equitable distribution system that increases healthy food access, reduces food waste, and benefits our entire community.

Please help the Historic Lewes Farmers Market raise $10,000 for the many programs it oversees to help support small family farms and provide fresh local food to those in need. The HLFM offers annual scholarships to small farmers, matches SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, and purchases fresh, local food from our local family farms to give to Delaware families in need. Our programs work to help all those in our community, from small farmers to families who use SNAP and our local food pantries. The HLFM will use the $10,000 raised in this year’s DoMore24 Delaware fundraiser to strengthen and expand these programs and more!
