Organization Mission:

To provide community-wide access to a quality visual arts program.

MAL is once again participating in this one-day, 24-hour amazing fundraising effort! We have set this year's goal at $10,000 to support our mission of providing community-wide access to a quality visual arts program and we need your donations on March 3-4 from 6pm–6pm to reach, and maybe exceed our goal.

Being a small non-profit, we are eligible for a number of stretch dollar pools, making YOUR dollars go further. For example, if we receive 3% of the total donations raised by all eligible organizations in that category, then we receive 3% of the stretch pool.

As a Delaware Division of the Arts grant recipient, we are eligible for the $200,000 small non-profit category stretch dollars. We are also in the "deep end" for the following pools:
  • Sussex County Stretch Pool (Supported through the Carl M. Freeman Foundation, Total Value = $20,000);
  • Sussex County Donation Incentive Bonus Grants (Supported through the Carl M. Freeman Foundation, Total Value = $5,000): The top 3 nonprofits that receive the most number of donations over the 24 hours will receive bonus grants—1st place $3,000 incentive grant, 2nd place $1,500, 3rd place $500;
  • Greater Giving Opening Prize (starting at 6 PM on Thursday, March 3 — Total Value $10,000): The first 20 nonprofits that receive 25 donations each get a bonus of $500.

There are more bonus prizes and hourly giveaways to come. WOWSER that is a lot of dollars available for non-profits all over the state!

So we need your help from 6pm-6pm on March 3–March 4! We can do this
together Delaware.
About Mispillion Art League

MAL offers about 80 classes a year in a wide variety of mediums such as pastels, pottery, jewelry, stained glass, acrylic, oil, watercolor, etc. Classes are offered to students starting at age 5 and up, from beginners to advanced artists. We are always on the lookout for new class ideas to offer the community!

We also work with a number of other organizations to offer classes at no or low cost to their members. Among those is the veterans Home of the Brave I and II; Kent-Sussex Industries (KSI), a not for profit vocational rehabilitation organization whose mission is to assist people with disabilities in the pursuit of their potential in employment and meaningful participation in their communities; the Salvation Army Creative HeARTs Program for mentally-challenged adults; and we offer low-cost classes for seniors twice per month.

MAL wants to continue offering these workshops, our extensive educational programs, and add more art opportunities so that we continue to meet the needs of our expanding community.

In order to continue supporting our mission and forward growth, reliable funding is imperative. While we do apply for and receive grants, we cannot rely on their dwindling resources to keep the lights on and the rent paid. As a financially responsible organization, we continue to brainstorm and produce fundraising strategies, such as DoMore24Delaware. We believe in the power of art to heal and uplift individuals and entire communities and so we are asking that you be a part of our organization, the Mispillion Art League.
