NERDiT Cares

NERDiT Cares believes in empowering underserved communities by ending the digital divide. To this end, we have donated over 5,000 computers in the past five years to people living in at-risk neighborhoods in Wilmington, DE and the region. Our workforce development programs have helped dozens of local residents change their career trajectories and get qualified for high-paying IT careers. And our work does not stop there. This year, we will donate at least 3,000 computers and train 50 more young people for the career of their dreams, but we need your help! Help us provide computers and jobs to students and people in need. Your donation can help us end the digital divide. Thank you Fellow NERD!

NERDiT Cares is on a mission to empower underserved communities and close the Digital, Income, and Wealth Divides.

We donate thousands of computers each year providing children and families with the tools necessary to study in school, apply to a job or to college, or simply connect with family and society.

Our certified Apprentice and Pre-Apprentice programs help young people in Delaware qualify for IT careers. Entry level tech jobs pay at least $15 an hour and can provide the foundation for a long and successful career. Our graduates gain their entry level certifications, receive soft skills coaching, are provided with supports to meet all of lives typical challenges, and participate in job placement programs. After NERDiT, they thrive!

We believe that everyone should be afforded the opportunity to have technology in their lives!

  • $35 funds a tech repair for a senior citizen who can’t afford one
  • $150 provides a laptop to a child in a home without any computers
  • $250 pays for an unemployed young woman to sit for her first IT Certification exam
  • $1000 Provides job placement coaching for 10 Workforce Development participants
