The Newark Arts Alliance inspires creativity, innovation, and appreciation of the arts. Your support helps us keep our doors open to the public so that we can offer a marketplace for the arts with a main exhibition gallery and a shop featuring locally made art and crafts. We also provide space and oversight for artists, writers and performing artists to come together and share ideas and create together. Those wishing to learn more can take a class, while experienced artists can teach a class. We also bring art into the community with "Art to Go", our downtown "Art Loop" and participation in local events. Our annual summer camp "Camp Imagine" serves up to 36 kids, with a generous scholarship program. Funds are always appreciated to help us keep our doors open and to serve our mission.
Established in 1993, the Newark Arts Alliance (NAA) is a membership organization dedicated to developing community through the arts. All artwork exhibited in our Terry Foreman Gallery and sold in our Gallery Shop is created exclusively by local artists. We present twelve exhibitions each year, including solo shows, small group shows, and themed exhibitions.
The NAA offers classes for students of all ages and skill levels; holds events dedicated to the visual, literary, and performing arts; and sponsors a popular, full-day arts camp for two weeks each summer. We also offer eight free programs each month for musicians, writers, visual artists, dancers, and fiber artists.
To promote art in our community, the NAA sponsors artistic opportunities for children and seniors through our Art to Go projects and organizes a changing display of art in local businesses through our Art Loop program.
Membership is open to all, artists and supporters of the arts alike. The Newark Arts Alliance is supported through membership, class, and exhibition fees; art sales; space rentals; fundraising events; private donations; and grants. Additional support is received through business sponsorships and donations of goods. Our programs are also sponsored, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
