Aiming for a sustainable, cleaner, healthier zero waste future for Delaware!
Organization Mission:
In order to improve the health and welfare of animals, humans, our communities and our environment, we strive to eliminate the scourge of single-use plastic pollution and to foster a culture of zero waste in Delaware through education, awareness building events, and advocacy initiatives.
About Plastic Free Delaware
PFD led the successful Delaware legislative initiatives to ban single use plastic bags in 2019, balloon releases in 2020, and expanded polystyrene foam in restaurants in 2023. To address food waste and decrease organics in our landfills, PFD launched the Delaware Community Composting Initiative in 2022. Plastic Free Delaware is the founder and co-leader of YES! (the statewide Delaware Youth Environmental Summit) for Delaware's high school students.
Our DoMore24 in goal in 2026 is to raise $5.000 to support our youth initiatives. We provide waste reduction and composting educational programming to libraries, schools, and teachers throughout Delaware and host the Youth Environmental Summit (YES!) for Delaware high school students. Through our youth programs we reach over 25000 students annually. Help us increase that number by supporting us now through DoMore24 in 2026!
