On Thursday, November 20th, 2025 we will honor the memories of all those who lost their lives to anti-transgender violence and discrimination. Not only do we remember those who were killed by violence, but we also remember those who ended their lives due to the current political climate, or a lack or loss of access to life saving care or familial support.

 

Planned Parenthood of Delaware (PPDE) has provided clinic-based gender-affirming hormone therapy for those 18 and up for years, and they aren’t stopping now. I am raising funds to help support the cost of clinical care for PPDE’s GAC/GAHT patients, and also raising awareness that PPDE continues to provide crucial gender-affirming clinical care for existing AND new patients. I want to ensure that uninsured and underinsured* patients still have access to their life sustaining appointments and services, and that everyone knows PPDE is there for them.

 

*Here we define underinsured as either a patient whose insurance doesn't cover these services or patients who cannot afford their copay.

Starting today, we will spend the next 21 days raising funds, concluding at midnight on November 20th, as Transgender Day of Remembrance ends. Please note that we will continue to remember and honor these transgender individuals so this page will still be open to additional donations after November 20th for anyone who still wishes to donate funds specifically for GAC/GAHT assistance. For new patients, a full fee initial GAC/GAHT visit can range from $112-$167. For established patients, a full fee GAC/GAHT visit can range from $93-$124. Copays often range from $20-75 dollars for patients with insurance. All donations made through this fundraiser will be used to reduce out of pocket expenses for PPDE’s uninsured and underinsured GAC/GAHT patients.

What does hormone therapy consist of?

Planned Parenthood of Delaware may be able to start or continue hormone therapy and provide referrals for gender-qualified therapy and resources if needed. If you are on hormone therapy, you can utilize the health center for ongoing care and monitoring. In order to receive gender-affirming hormone therapy services with Planned Parenthood of Delaware you need to be over 18 and capable of providing consent for services. There are special consents for these services.
