Get Out There! Educational Trips for Foster Youth
Organization Mission:
To enhance the lives of children, youth, and families by providing human services that meet the psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs of those we serve.
Educational trips have a positive, lasting impact on a youth's educational and career outcomes. These explorations make youth more engaged, intellectually curious, and interested in learning. Children and youth in foster care often miss out on these opportunities. Help us reach our goal, and 25 youth will travel to Philly, DC or New York (they will vote) for a day of tourism! A foster child's rare opportunity for first-hand learning in a natural environment that will ignite curiosity, and provide impactful and lasting influence.
About Progressive Life Center, Inc.
Since 2003, PLC has promoted brighter outcomes for some of Delaware’s most vulnerable children, youth and families. We train and license foster homes and ensure the well-being of the children we place. In our Independent Living Program, with life-skills training and case management, we guide older foster youth toward self-sufficiency. Our hotline supports foster parents in crisis and we offer therapeutic support to youth at risk of displacement.
