The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
The Salvation Army is a faith-based, comprehensive human service organization that helps individuals, families and whole communities lead healthier, safer, and more productive lives.
Over the past 133 years, the organization has built an extensive capacity to undertake its mission and to support a vast variety of programs through its over 3,500 service centers in the eastern U.S.
The Salvation Army Delaware operates statewide, offering a wide range of programming that addresses the needs of the whole person - physically, emotionally, economically, and spiritually.
All done without discrimination of gender, race, color, religion, national origin, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or veteran status.
DOING MORE can simply mean loving more – loving beyond our families and neighbors and loving beyond what is easy. It means showing love to people we don’t even know. Please Love Beyond with us and help Delawareans facing desperate times. Your kind generosity supports all our programs.
We offer crisis alleviation by providing shelter in our Emergency Housing Residence and assisting financially with rent, mortgage, and utilities, and by providing food through our food panty and soup kitchen.
The Rapid Re-Housing Programassists individuals and families to alleviate their homeless barriers and gain suitable housing.
The Restoration Now Program is building awareness of human-trafficking in Delaware and providing case management for survivors.
Our childcare can serve up to 82 children in a warm, safe environment.
The Adult Rehabilitation Center provides support for adults struggling with addiction, our Developmental Disabilities Programtransitions adults from institutions to community settings, and Emergency Disaster Services provides labor, food, cleaning supplies, and spiritual counseling during these dreadful situations.
As you support our work, learn more about our statewide community impact:
SEAFORD CORPS: The Seaford Corps are currently working with families with school aged children to equip parents and guardians with information and support in raising children so they will not succumb to an addiction as a young adult. Majors Philip and Adela Davis have 2 specific goals: (1) To minimize the very real threat of an addiction derailing the futures of our children; and (2) to help parents and guardians avoid the collateral damage associated with having an addicted child.
WELCOME, MAJORS LEANNE & MARTIN CORDNER We are happy to welcome and introduce Delaware's new State Coordinators all the way from Cambridge, England! Majors Leanne & Martin Cordner began working in the Delaware State Officer the first week of February.
