Tri-State Equine Adoption & Rescue

Organization Mission:

To rescue, rehabilitate, and provide sanctuary to horses in need while educating the public in the proper care of equines. To provide a special link between rescued horses and people of all ages, including disadvantaged children and children with emotional and behavioral challenges.

In 2021, Tri-State Equine Adoption & Rescue partnered with the Dept of Ag to take in abused, neglected, or at large livestock. The rescue is bursting at the seams. The endless stream of horses, ponies, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and goats mean the rescue needs additional shelter to keep these animals safe from the elements.  Quarantine areas must be created to prevent the spread of any diseases the animals may carry. Additionally, we continue to take in at risk horses from the public or from low end auctions. Because all donations, in their entirety, go towards the care, feeding, and medical bills of the animals here on the farm, there isn't anything left over to build or purchase additional shelters.  In addition to shelters and quarantine areas, the rescue is also in need of hay huts. Hay huts are utilized when feeding round bales to livestock. This keeps the hay dry and prevents the hay from being spread out and wasted. Hay huts are currently $750.00 each.  The rescue tends to put out anywhere from 8-11 bales at a time.  Currently the rescue goes through approximately 150 round bales per winter. Anything to stop the waste of hay is a blessing.  The rescue is also in need of a sling to help support horses while being trimmed by the farrier or lifting a downed horse. The sling is $639.

In 2022, the rescue hopes to branch out and start it's therapeutic program for children with autism. It is a win win for the horses and the children!  Any assistance to help the rescue continue to serve it's community would be greatly appreciated.
About Tri-State Equine Adoption and Rescue

Over the past 27 years our goal has been to raise public awareness to the plight of the slaughter bound horse, provide education on the proper care of our equine friends and place as many horses as possible in loving, adoptive homes.
