For over 75 years, United Way of Delaware (UWDE) has been fostering connections among individuals, organizations, and communities to drive transformative change through advocacy, volunteerism, and donations.
While you may recognize us from your workplace campaign or community events, there's more to United Way of Delaware that we want to share with you. Our commitment is fueled by a passion for making a positive impact on others.
Truly, it's your support that makes our work possible!
Today, we invite you to consider a donation, whatever your budget allows, to amplify our efforts in supporting fellow Delawareans across our four focus areas.
Did you know that when you dial 2-1-1 for assistance, it's our team at United Way of Delaware answering the call? We connect individuals to crucial resources such as utility bill assistance, housing, and programs for children, youth, and expectant mothers.
Could you imagine a home without a single book? In most suburban homes, there are at least 13 books for each child. However, in urban and rural areas, the ratio is often 300 kids to 1 book. Our dedication lies in ensuring more children read on grade level by the end of 3rd grade, providing books, and offering after-school and summer literacy programs.
Thriving youth lead to a thriving economy. In Delaware, 7.3% of youth aged 16-24 are disconnected from school or work. Collaborating with our partners, we strive to ensure every middle and high school student is connected to mentors, support networks, financial literacy, and career exploration.
Over 40% of Delaware households face poverty or imminent crisis. Through our free Stand By Me financial coaching and literacy programs, we empower individuals to enhance their financial success and build wealth.
Today, we urge you to contribute what you can - $100, fantastic! $50, wonderful! $25, still impactful, and even $10, we sincerely appreciate your support! Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of Delawareans.
Watch the video below to hear more from our Team! Here's what one of our colleagues had to say about why she supports United Way of Delaware.
Hello! My Name is Angelica, I work in the Finance Department at United Way of Delaware. One of my favorite programs that United Way of DE has to offer is, “My Very Own Library”. As someone who loves reading; I think it is important that we have the Children and Youth of today interest in literature. This program teaches them that not only can reading be fun, but it also helps them build up their reading level and develop stronger literacy skills.
