Wilmington Montessori School is a collaborative learning community rooted in Montessori principles, inspiring the joyful discovery of self and a passion for learning and independent thinking. We empower children to be knowledgeable and responsible contributors to the global community.
A curriculum guided by the proven success of the Montessori Method, hands-on experiential learning, accredited and passionate teachers, and a community dedicated to knowing and understanding each child and meeting them where they are as learners - these elements translate into the exceptional Montessori education for students ages 12 months through middle school at Wilmington Montessori School.
Many independent schools like Wilmington Montessori School rely on charitable gifts to provide enhancements to each student’s educational experience. During the 2021-22 school year, this is more important than ever.
During this year's Annual Fund Drive, we asked our families to share why WMS is a one-of-a-kind school and how individualized learning has benefited their child. As WMS dad and Annual Fund Chair David Kubacki wrote:

Maria Montessori noted that a “child’s individual liberty must be so guided that through activity he/she may arrive at independence…the child who does not do, does not know how to do.” In the modern world, we are often overwhelmed by global access to information and opinions. Aren’t we lucky that the Montessori Method teaches our children to value their independence, think for themselves, and truly be “one-of-a-kind”?
Annual fund gifts in past years have made a difference in our school by allowing us to meet each child where they are, academically, socially and emotionally, providing financial assistance to families who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford a WMS education, supporting our teachers’ quests for lifelong learning, and allowing us to maintain our beautiful 25-acre campus and facilities.
The support of the WMS community is essential to keep our school strong and thriving, allowing students to learn in an engaging and supportive environment that encourages them to become their best selves. We cannot thank you enough for your contributions!
