25th Anniversary Celebration

Organization Mission:

Founded in 1996, The Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band is a 35- piece brass and percussion ensemble formed in the tradition of British-style brass bands. The band is a non-profit musical group comprised of professional-level volunteer musicians from the Chesapeake Bay region including Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The band is headquartered in Hockessin, Delaware.

The Year 2021 has great promise for our organization to get back to rehearsing and performing once again. To help make up for lost time, the United Way is conducting a 24 hour event called Do More 24 Delaware. It is a one-day event during which nonprofits across the state participate in an around-the-clock friendly competition to raise incremental funds that go directly to participating agencies. Will you help us? The more funds we raise, the higher the ADDITIONAL contribution we can receive from the United Way of Delaware.
About Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band

In order to meet its mission to educate, entertain, and inspire, the all-volunteer band maintains an active performance schedule in the Mid-Atlantic area performing 15-20 concerts per year at various festivals, competitions, performing arts locations, churches, senior living facilities, and other entertainment venues. The band’s repertoire includes brass band arrangements of classical, brass/concert band, big band/swing, marches, jazz, and pop/rock music. The band is known for its emphasis on performance quality and its interactive repartee with audiences. The band has released eight CD’s and has been invited frequently to perform for regional and national music festivals and conventions.
