What does home mean to you?
For some, it’s the sound of children playing in the backyard. For others, it’s the smell of a family meal at the dinner table. For all of us, home represents safety, stability, and the place where our futures take root.
At Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity, we believe every one deserves the chance to experience that same sense of belonging. Yet for too many of our neighbors, safe and affordable housing feels out of reach. That’s where you come in.
Because of your generosity, we celebrated a huge milestone this summer, the completion of our 87th home. Each of those homes represents a family who now has the foundation to build a better life. But our work isn’t done. We are on the road to 100 homes, which means 13 more families are still waiting for the chance to unlock the door to a brighter future.
Building homes takes partnership - yours, ours, and the families who invest in their partnership with us. And while we need to raise $50,000 to complete each home, every single gift helps lay the foundation brick by brick, nail by nail:
- $25 provides a box of nails to hold walls together.
- $50 helps frame the walls where laughter will echo.
- $75 provides a window that lets the light in.
- $100 installs an interior door, opening the way to new opportunities.
When you give, you’re doing more than building houses. You’re building equity, dignity, and hope. You’re giving children a safe space to dream, parents the stability to work toward a better future, and entire neighborhoods the strength to thrive.
As we quickly approach our 90th home, we are asking friends like you to stand with us. Together, we can build more than a home. We can build a community where everyone has a place to belong.
Thank you for being a part of this mission. With your support, we will reach 100 homes and beyond.
P.S. Your support today is more than a gift; it’s a promise to families in our community that they are not alone. Together, we build homes, communities, and hope.
We have expanded our offered programs to include Neighborhood Revitalization, and Affordable Homeownership opportunities. We serve the Kent County, DE community and its residents.
