CityFest's PASS IT ON!
Organization Mission:
Cityfest produces/co-produces activities designed to promote economic development and community revitalization while improving quality of life through arts programming, special events, and tourism. Activities strive to foster an appreciation for Wilmington’s diverse culture, history, and heritage; eliminate prejudice and discrimination through education of the public; combat community deterioration; promote the beautification and revitalization of Wilmington; and lessen neighborhood tension.
PASS IT ON!
Cityfest's PASS IT ON! initiatives encourage positive values and inspire the next generations through creative engagement in various forms.
Arts Work Summer Youth Visual Arts Program is a 6-week summer program. This 5-year-old apprenticeship program is a summer job opportunity that cultivates artistic, personal, and entrepreneurial skills while creating salable artwork under the guidance of professional teaching artists.
The Boysie Lowery Living Jazz Residency was launched in 2015 as a two-week program designed for aspiring jazz artists between 17 and 25 who are both composers and performers. The program offers a range of activities, including workshops, rehearsals, composing sessions, performance opportunities, and master classes that are conducted by some of the most prominent figures in the jazz industry. The residency concludes with participants' performances at the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival.
