Churches Take A Corner, Inc. (CTAC), a community-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to actively engage in the fight against substance misuse and mental illness in our communities. We are committed to being a vital resource for individuals needing prevention assistance, wraparound services, and peer-to-peer counseling, all aimed at helping them overcome the social determinants impacting their lives.

CTAC operates under three pillars: Safety, Education, and Opportunity.

The current environment within our city, like many other cities, is plagued with senseless gun violence and murder.  Our communities and families are suffering from multiple traumas that can impact them for years to come without intervention.  This is becoming more prevalent with our children who are constantly being bombarded with violence, neglect, and who lack resources, which perpetuates the cycle of hopelessness.  Churches Take A Corner (CTAC), working with strategic partners who are committed to creating solutions that effectively restore public trust and safety.  

​On August 7, 2021, we altered the message from death and destruction city-wide, to “Peace on the Streets - Healing Beyond Bullies and Bullets!”  Strategically, CTAC realized that there was a need to include the communities because they are the frontline constituents (stakeholders).

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES - WE ARE PUTTING PEOPLE FIRST!

CTAC volunteers are committed to help the citizens of their communities overcome the various traumas of their lives.  This dedication goes beyond a typical eight-hour day.  CTAC’s mantra is “Healing beyond bullies, pandemics, and bullets, which requires the organization to partner with all levels of government, and other agencies to achieve its mission.  

Our volunteers will be equipped, beyond the skills and talents that they already possess, through CTAC’s training programs, the volunteers will be elevated to new degrees of helping citizens in trauma.  Our neighborhoods have been impacted with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), gun violence, crime, domestic abuse, and other social detriments.  As a result, our citizens’ lack of resources and/or opportunities causes them to live a life of hopelessness and continued violence, our volunteers MAKE AN IMPACT!

We believe that we can make a difference to save a life in our community as we work with first responders and families.
