About Delaware Choral Society

Mission: The purpose of DCS is to bring the enjoyment of music by providing the opportunity (1) for community members to learn and perform quality choral music through offering membership to all interested singers and (2) for community members to hear quality music by giving affordable concerts of high artistic standards at least twice annually.

Our upcoming concert, An American Tapestry of Composers, will be performed 4PM on Sunday, April 21st at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in downtown Dover. We will be performing the works of Aaron Copeland, Randall Thompson, Gwyneth Walker, as well as popular favorites Duke Ellington and George Gershwin. Tickets will be available through our website beginning in March.

The Delaware Choral Society is a nonprofit organization, open to every interested singer without audition.  We were founded in 1957 by a group of church choirs with the goal of working together to perform Handel’s Messiah. Today, DCS welcomes any community member to join us as we partner with local and professional musicians to perform works such as Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Requiem, and Haydn’s Creation. We also enjoy our pops concerts with themes like Curtain Up! (Broadway favorites) , Musical Feast (songs about food) and A Night at the Opera.
