About DFRC Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens
Mission: DFRC, the Delaware Foundation Reaching Citizens with intellectual disABILITIES, has been making a positive impact on thousands of lives for almost 70 years. Our mission is simple: to enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual disABILITIES—and in doing so, enrich the lives of everyone.
At the heart of DFRC’s work is a dedicated team, led by our Executive Director and supported by Trustees, staff, and volunteers who share a deep sense of community. Together, we raise awareness and fund programs that empower people with intellectual disABILITIES to reach their fullest potential, live independently, and enjoy life to the fullest. We believe that, first and foremost, we are all people, and that our ABILITIES and disABILITIES are just natural parts of who we are. Please visit www.dfrc.org to learn more!
BENEFICIARIES DFRC is dedicated to identifying and supporting Delaware nonprofit programs that meet the full spectrum of community needs. Our funding process starts with the Beneficiaries Committee reviewing requests, followed by final decisions from the DFRC Board of Trustees. We also conduct ongoing evaluations to ensure all funds are used as intended. In 2023, DFRC proudly surpassed $6.4 million in grants to support high-quality programs for Delawareans with intellectual disABILITIES. As community needs continue to grow, DFRC remains focused on providing the resources and support necessary to fulfill our mission and make a lasting impact.
