Centreville Layton School’s program is designed to meet the individual needs of children and adolescents who learn differently.  Numerous challenges to the learning process can interfere with a child’s ability to succeed in a large, traditional classroom. Our students build skill sets and develop learning strategies so they can overcome challenges, achieve academically and thrive socially.

Centreville Layton School students may face challenges in one or more of the following areas:

  • Language processing difficulties
  • Dyslexia
  • Difficulties with spelling, reading, writing, and math
  • Fine and gross motor skill delays
  • Executive functioning disorder
  • Social skills
  • Anxiety
  • Receptive and expressive language disorders
  • Peer relationships
  • School-related apprehension
  • Attention issues such as ADHD

Hear from our students and their families:
"We are truly and genuinely thrilled to give something back to the school that has done so much for our family!  Centreville feels more like family and home than anything we could have expected back when we were searching for schools.  You all go above and beyond the call of duty for our children, and we know you do the same for all students in your school." - The G Family

"The perfect fit for our son. He spent three years at another private school, and although we loved it, it wasn't quite what he needed. He has finally found a true peer group, feels heard and appreciated by his teachers, and is becoming an independent learner. He has told us several times that of all the schools he has been to (public and private), this is his favorite. The staff is accessible, encouraging, and always willing to help. The small class sizes allow for individual attention." - The D Family

"As a parent of a child with ADHD and learning disabilities, for whom traditional public school failed to meet his specific educational needs, I am forever grateful to the staff at CLS for the support, encouragement, and love they provided to my son during his four years of high school there. It was truly a safe haven for him, a place where he felt like he belonged and could be a part of something bigger. Despite being a small private school, he was able to take part in traditional high school experiences, such as prom, playing on the basketball team, and other school activities. The staff was everything we could hope for, and then some! Warm, supportive, and knowledgeable. They really brought out the best in my son, who will be attending college in the fall (something that once seemed highly unlikely for him.) " - The M Family
