About Duffy's Hope

Mission: Our mission is to provide intellectual, emotional and interpersonal growth opportunities for youth and families through advocacy, education, mentoring and community outreach.

Since 1998, Duffy’s Hope has served youth in our community and was recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2002. Duffy’s Hope offers programs that helps youth plan for their future and a path to achieve it.

Duffy's Hope Ambassador's Program: provides prevention programming that teaches youth to recognize high risk people, places, things and situations while building self-confidence to handle these risk factors through effective utilizations of a newly acquired skill set.

Project T.E.A.M.: aims to educate youth on abstaining from non-marital sexual activity by fostering a safe and informed environment. The program focuses on empowering teenagers from disadvantaged communities in New Castle County, Delaware—particularly in Wilmington and surrounding areas. By addressing sexual risk factors and promoting healthy decision-making, Project T.E.A.M. works to support positive outcomes for minority teenagers.

Project D.R.I.V.E: Provides students with tools to enhance self-esteem, self-worth, healthy relationships and motivation to plan for their future. This will help the youth make informed decisions.

Project PreVent: To prevent violence by enhancing the conflict-resolution skills of both male and female middle and high school students. Provide students with coping skills, communication skills and ways to handle uncomfortable situations.

Youth Summer Basketball League: a free sports program delivering meaningful, healthy and safe activities for high school aged students. The basketball leagues are used to instruct young people the importance of healthy lifestyles, literacy, self-esteem, conflict resolution and leadership.

H.O.P.E House Transitional Residence Program: Our mission with THP is to meet each young adult where they are, helping them build self-sufficiency through encouragement, stability, and a supportive community. With our unique approach to M.E.E.T.I.N.G.—Motivating, Educating, Empowering, Transforming, Inspiring, Nurturing, and Guiding—we offer resources and mentorship tailored to their needs during these critical years. Through a 12-18 month journey, THP provides not only shelter but a network of professionals and community members committed to fostering growth, self-esteem, and independence. By creating meaningful relationships and listening to their voices, we empower each young woman to shape her path forward.
