First State Squash is an out-of-school program that delivers critical academic, athletic and youth development programming to Wilmington youth. FSS team members attend practices three-days-a-week during the school year and 20 practices in the summer. Each session includes squash instruction, academic support (homework help and literacy-based enrichment) and a healthy snack.

The program currently works alongside 65 students in 5th through 10th grades from ten Title I middle and high schools in Wilmington, DE.

First State Squash is tuition-free and this is only made possible by our thoughtful community of supporters. Your support helps ensure First State Squash:
  • offers individualized High School placement support to our 8th grade cohorts
  • provides transportation to (and occasionally from) our team members' various schools
  • continues our growth in the Wilmington community and is positioned to serve 85 students by December 2024
We greatly appreciate you considering a gift and your belief in our mission!
