The mission of the Lewes Community Garden is to create a sustainable community garden in the greater Lewes, DE area by sharing knowledge, experience, and friendship. The goal is to provide accessible garden opportunities for all ages and abilities.
As the Garden has grown in popularity during the past 4 years, we have been fielding requests from aspiring gardeners to build more beds.
Our DoMore24 campaign is designed to raise the $800 to support that building effort which will create an additional 8 beds bringing our total number of beds to 56.
About Lewes Community Garden
Mission: The mission of the Lewes Community Garden is to create a sustainable community garden in the greater Lewes, DE area by sharing knowledge, experience, and friendship. The goal is to provide accessible garden opportunities for all ages and abilities.
The Garden was founded by a group of local residents who established the area's first community garden in the Great Marsh Park, Lewes, Delaware to provide accessible garden opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
We are very excited to be starting our 4th growing season this year. We currently have 48 4x8 ft garden beds in the Garden. Sponsored garden beds are available for those who cannot afford the rent.
Members use organic practices to maintain the garden, where we learn from each other, grow nutritious food, and share with the larger community through harvest donations to local food banks and by hosting public workshops.
We work toward bringing the Sussex County community together to create a healthy and sustainable garden that benefits everyone.
