Heart of the Spectrum: Building the Delaware Sensory Museum
Organization Mission:
Our mission is to build immersive, sensory-informed play environments that celebrate neurodiversity and support the holistic development of people with sensory and learning differences—while empowering their caregivers and communities through education, access, and innovation.
The Heart of the Spectrum Initiative powers the growth of Delaware Sensory Museum (DSM) — a community-driven effort building Delaware’s first sensory-informed museum and resource hub for neurodivergent children and their families.
Interactive sensory stations, tactile play elements, adaptive athletic equipment, and calming tools that allow children of all abilities to safely explore and engage.
Free and low-cost sensory play days, caregiver workshops, and community conversations that bring families, educators, and healthcare providers together.
Inclusive movement experiences that help neurodivergent children participate in structured play, teamwork, and physical activity in a supportive environment.
