Organization Mission:

The mission of the Seamen’s Center of Wilmington, Inc., is to meet the needs of the seafarers who visit the Ports in the State of Delaware. Our goal is to make their time in port a rewarding one by providing personal, practical and spiritual assistance. A warm welcome is extended to ease the pain of loneliness and isolation and to offer a respite from the hazards of the sea.

Help us continue our personal shopping trips for quarantined crews.  These Supply Chain Heroes who have kept our store shelves stocked need our help more than any other time.

Right now COVID restrictions make it nearly impossible for seafarers to come ashore to purchase necessary items.  SCW staff and volunteers have been running shopping errands for the isolated crews.  Shopping for items such as clothing, vitamins, specialty food & beverages, workout equipment, and Amazon gift cards so they may place their own orders.

The Seamen’s Center of Wilmington, Inc. (SCW) is a community-funded, volunteer-driven 501(c)3 non-profit, neither federally funded nor affiliated with any other seamen’s center.  SCW is the sole organization in the State of Delaware dedicated to meeting the needs of the seafarers who visit the Ports in the State of Delaware. Federally mandated port security regulations prohibit vetted seafarers from walking on Port property; SCW volunteers provide on port escort and essential free transportation on and off of Port property.
