The Studio Group, Inc. is a group of 40 women artists who own and maintain and preserve the historic Howard Pyle Studios located in Wilmington, Delaware. The group has been in existence for over 80 years and its mission is to educate, inform, and carry on the legacy of celebrated American illustrator and artist, Howard Pyle.

Support Howard Pyle Studio Group and its important mission to preserve the historic 1305 N. Franklin Street studios  and to share the legacy of Wilmington’s native son, the incomparable illustrator Howard Pyle.  The Studio Group originated in 1935 as a small group of women painting together.  Members meet weekly to paint, study art, and participate in classes and critiques.  Today, members continue to enjoy those activities and, in addition, seek to meet special art needs of the community, conduct tours of the historic property, and host the public each first Friday Wilmington Art Loop, September though May.

Mission: The Studio Group, Inc. is a group of 40 women artists who own and maintain and preserve the historic Howard Pyle Studios located in Wilmington, Delaware. The group has been in existence for over 80 years and its mission is to educate, inform, and carry on the legacy of celebrated American illustrator and artist, Howard Pyle.

Since 1935 the historic Howard Pyle Studio has been home for a group of women artists who work, study, and exhibit their art at the studio. The Pyle Studio is one of the oldest continually
operating art studios in the country.

It is owned and maintained by the deeply dedicated members of the Studio Group, Inc.
The Studio Group, Inc owns and maintains the building and grounds and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
