International Literacy Association Do More 24 Delaware 2023
Organization Mission:
ILA connects research and practice to improve the quality of literacy learning across the globe in ways that are respectful, responsive, and ethical.
Funds received during the Do More 24 Delaware 2025 event will support ILA’s mission to connect research and practice to improve the quality of literacy learning in ways that are respectful, responsive, and ethical. We will continue to work to ensure that every child, everywhere, has access to the education, opportunities, and resources needed to read.
This work will include the expansion and distribution of ILA’s Children’s Rights to Excellent Literacy Instruction and Children’s Rights to Read. A toolkit and the development of other resources will offer simple ideas to implement in classrooms, schools, and communities.
Funds will support free and low-cost digital events that will provide professional development to educators across the state. These digital events will focus on timely topics and research-based instruction that address some of the most important issues educators are facing. These online events feature leading voices in literacy instruction and translate research into practice-ready information.
Delaware is experiencing a lack of reading proficiency and a teacher shortage. The resources developed by ILA are more critical now than ever to support Delaware’s educators and students.
