Montessori Works Delaware
Organization Mission:
The mission of Montessori Works is to increase accessible, authentic, quality Montessori education in Delaware.
Quality, child-centered education—such as authentic Montessori programs—can be transformative for a child’s academic success and lifelong well-being. Montessori’s emphasis on the whole child—academic, physical, and socio-emotional development—nurtures students who not only excel academically, but grow into creative thinkers, lifelong learners, and engaged, community-minded citizens.
Montessori Works is a nonprofit network of Montessori experts, educators, parents, and advocates working to make high-quality, authentic Montessori education available as a FREE public option for families across Delaware. We believe every child deserves access to this powerful educational approach, regardless of zip code or income.
Our next major goal is to establish a public Montessori charter school in Kent County and expand access to Montessori preschool opportunities across the state. These efforts will open doors for families who are eager for Montessori education but currently have limited or no free options available.
Funds raised will directly support the development of the staff, infrastructure, and support systems needed to bring these schools and programs to life, along with the communications, outreach, and awareness-building efforts that move this work forward.

About Montessori Works Delaware
Our work focuses in four areas:
- Providing comprehensive school start-up support to districts and charters to support the expansion of Montessori education options in the public sector;
- Strengthening the Montessori teacher pipeline in Delaware through creating a Montessori training program focused on dual-certification requirements for Montessori teachers and administrators in public schools;
- Increasing Montessori awarenesses by sponsoring seminars and other opportunities for communities to explore how children learn through Montessori;
- Working with legislators, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community members to advocate for pro-Montessori public policies.
Accomplishments:
- Opened Sussex Montessori School, which provides accessible, public Montessori education in western Sussex County.
