Why Your Support Matters to Nativity Prep Athletics
At Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington, our students are more than just scholars—they’re athletes, teammates, and future leaders. For many of our students, participating in athletics provides opportunities they might not otherwise have, both on and off the court or field. Through sports, they learn critical life skills like teamwork, discipline, resilience, and leadership.
Athletics is more than just a game at Nativity Prep; it’s a gateway to personal growth and community. However, as a tuition-free school serving students from financially marginalized communities, we rely entirely on donor support to fund our programs.
This year, we’re focusing our Do More 24 Day of Giving on raising funds for Nativity Prep Athletics to ensure that every student athlete has the resources they need to thrive. Your contributions will directly support:
-
New Uniforms: Providing our students with quality uniforms fosters pride, boosts morale, and ensures our teams represent Nativity Prep with confidence.
-
Tournament Fees: Competing in tournaments offers our students invaluable experiences to showcase their hard work and talent.
-
Coach Stipends: Our dedicated coaches go above and beyond to mentor and guide our students. Your support helps us retain these incredible role models.
-
Athletic Equipment: From basketballs to soccer goals, having the right equipment is essential for building skills and ensuring safe, effective practices.
Nativity Prep Athletics: Growing Opportunities for Our Students
Our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sports, some of which have been long-standing traditions, while others are exciting new additions.
-
Track & Field – Our students compete in various meets, and last year, some even participated in the Penn Relays, one of the most prestigious track events in the country!
-
Basketball – Help us continue Nativity Prep’s tradition of championship basketball and provide our students with a competitive and rewarding experience.
-
Rowing – Thanks to a generous grant from Arshay Cooper to Newport Rowing, our students now have access to this sport, which was once thought to be only for their more affluent peers.
-
Flag Football – A brand-new program launching this fall at Nativity Prep!
-
Soccer – Always a student favorite, providing a great way for our young men to stay active and build teamwork skills.
-
Squash – Through our partnership with First State Squash, students can participate in this alternative sport, opening new doors for athletic and academic opportunities.
-
Volleyball – Many of our students have expressed an interest in this sport, and we are working on providing them with the opportunity to play!
By supporting this campaign, you’re not just funding athletics—you’re investing in our students’ futures. You’re giving them the tools to develop their potential, the confidence to pursue their dreams, and the foundation to become strong, empowered individuals.
Let’s come together to make a lasting impact on the lives of our Nativity Prep athletes. Together, we can raise the game and raise the bar for our students.
Help us gear up for greatness—because every student deserves the chance to play, learn, and grow.
