With your support, Plastic Free Delaware works to address single-use plastic pollution throughout the state, from the plastic in our trees, along our highways, in our waterways and communities, and to foster a zero waste future through education, outreach and policy initiatives.  Our educational programs spread the word and raise awareness.  Our policy initiatives bring about necessary change as this is a crisis relating to global climate change and social justice.  Learn more at www.PlasticFreeDelaware.org.

About Plastic Free Delaware

Mission: In order to improve the health and welfare of animals, humans, our communities and our environment, we strive to eliminate the scourge of single-use plastic pollution and to foster a culture of zero waste in Delaware through education, awareness building events, and advocacy initiatives.

Founded in 2008, Plastic Free Delaware is a statewide organization focused on making Delaware a cleaner, healthier, and safer place by reducing the use of single use plastics and encouraging zero waste practices.  With the help of our passionate volunteers, we provide educational programs, youth initiatives, special events, and undertake advocacy for policy changes at the federal, state and local level throughout Delaware.

PFD led the successful Delaware legislative initiatives to ban single use plastic bags in 2019,  balloon releases in 2020, and expanded polystyrene foam in restaurants in 2023.  To address food waste and decrease organics in our landfills, PFD launched the Delaware Community Composting Initiative in 2022.  Plastic Free Delaware is the founder and co-leader of YES! (the  statewide Delaware Youth Environmental Summit) for Delaware's high school students (www.DelawareYES.org).

Our DoMore24 in goal in 2025 is to raise $2,500 to support our youth initiatives. We provide waste reduction and composting educational programming to libraries, schools, and teachers throughout Delaware and we also host the Youth Environmental Summit (YES!) for Delaware high school students.  Through our youth programs we reach over 2,000 students annually. Help us increase that number by supporting us now through DoMore24 in 2025!
