The Rehoboth Art League (RAL) and the Developing Artist Collaboration (DAC) are excited to announce their collaboration for another "RAL X DAC Pop Up Art Show," co-hosted as part of the Do More 24 fundraising event.

The "DAC x RAL Pop Up Art Show", a one-night event, aims to bring together local artists and community members in support of the arts while leveraging the fundraising incentives and matching opportunities provided by the Delaware Division of the Arts. The event will feature a Dine to Donate experience at Shorebreak Lodge in downtown Rehoboth Beach, where attendees can enjoy a delightful evening of art, food, and community engagement.

The collaboration between DAC and RAL underscores their shared commitment to promoting the arts and fostering creativity within the community. By joining forces, the two organizations seek to unite their audiences and make a public statement about their partnership and dedication to advancing the arts at the Delaware Beaches.

Our History and Programs
The Rehoboth Art League was formed in 1938 in Henlopen Acres, Delaware, as a place where artists could teach, gather, and exhibit their work. More than eighty-five years later, our nonprofit annually showcases dozens of exhibitions, offers more than 150 classes in art instruction, and the State of Delaware has recognized our historic property with a cultural conservation easement. Our efforts impact more than 25,000 community members annually through our work on our Henlopen Acres campus and around southern Delaware.

RAL is a membership arts organization, with more than 1,400 members from around the country. Our campus in coastal Delaware offers classes to members and non-members alike, educating people in traditional art forms, including oil and acrylic painting, watercolor, drawing, and pottery, but also offers digital photography and art history survey classes. Our Open Studios for members have a long history, and are volunteer driven in areas such as drawing, pottery, digital photography, and writing to provide avenues for self-improvement in supportive group environments.

In addition to our classes and exhibition, our organization works to engage people with creativity through our arts-driven events. Our Cottage Tour, now in its seventy-fourth year, foregrounds local art, architecture, interior and landscape design; our Outdoor Show gathers 125+ regionally and nationally recognized artists to showcase their work in booths around our campus; and our Holiday Fair curates the best in artisan craftsmanship each November to promote local, hand-crafted gift options. Our new Rehoboth Beach Arts Festival brings arts to the busy main street of downtown Rehoboth.

In addition to our on-campus activities, our organization has expanded to take arts to other parts of Sussex County. Over the years RAL has developed a Visual Arts Outreach program as part of our education department. Although this originated as a response to schools’ funding cuts for the arts and continues to serve children ages 5-17 at community centers and schools around southern Delaware, it has expanded to also include programs for the developmentally disabled and senior citizens.

Our mission-driven efforts are developed at our Henlopen Acres location, with over 3.5 acres of wooded grounds, formal gardens, and five buildings. The campus and historic elements—including our Permanent Collection of artwork and antiquities that encompasses close to 1,000 pieces—have become an integral part of the Art League’s identity and character, and thus an important part of its program services to the community. Our galleries, historic buildings, and gardens are always free and open to the public.

Your donation will help us to build upon our history of success and will allow us to expand our educational opportunities to the community, grow our exhibition footprint, and bring additional arts-driven programs to the region.

About Rehoboth Art League

Mission: Based in our historic setting and working in partnership with other organizations in the region, the Rehoboth Art League leads in sponsoring art exhibitions, education and other programs that inspire all community members to embrace the lifelong value of art.

The Rehoboth Art League was formed in 1938 in Henlopen Acres, Delaware, as a place where artists could teach, gather, and exhibit their work. Property owners Louise Corkran and Colonel Wilbur Corkran generously donated their property to provide a home to this organization, and our organization has gone on to host such artistic legends as Jack Lewis, Howard Schroeder, Orville Peets, and Mary Mullineux. We now boast more than 1,200 members who live across the country, offer more than 150 classes each year, annually hold more than 20 solo and group exhibitions of artwork, and produce special events such as our Salons, the Annual Cottage Tour, and our Outdoor Fine Art Show—all of which bring 25,000 people to our wooded, 3.5+ acre campus each year. And off campus, we reach underserved communities across Southern Delaware with exhibitions and arts education opportunities to further expand our reach.
