About SINE NOMINE Choral Arts
We are Sine Nomine, a choir formed in 2015 under the leadership of Marion Jacob. As a dynamic and expanding ensemble, we are dedicated to the artful expression of choral music, spanning from ancient chants to contemporary compositions. Our passion lies in serving our communities by performing works from new and local artists and engaging in local collaborations. We aim to present programs of captivating music that resonate with the seasons and liturgical calendar, enriching both our members and our audiences. We embrace artistic risks that push the boundaries for both our singers and audiences, commissioning new works that explore cross-genre performances. Our goal is to achieve beauty through artistic choral performance while fostering a welcoming and accessible community.

A Defining Season for Sine Nomine: Powered by Do More 24 Delaware
As a first-time participant in Do More 24 Delaware, Sine Nomine is excited to use the funds raised to lay the groundwork for becoming Delaware’s leading professional-level choral ensemble—beginning with our 2026–27 season of engaging programming performed in Wilmington and beyond.
In 2026–27, we will present three core concert events, expand our community outreach performances, and—most significantly—launch a newly formed contracted Octet of singers. This hand-selected ensemble will commit to a full program year, allowing us to elevate artistic excellence, deepen ensemble cohesion, and build long-term sustainability. Funds from Do More 24 will directly support singer contracts, composer commissions, venue costs, and community-access programming.
Delaware does not currently have a fully professional choral ensemble dedicated to chamber a cappella repertoire. Our long-term vision is to fill that gap—offering audiences a distinctive, high-quality choral experience that spans from ancient chant to newly commissioned works.
As part of this work, we will continue our Composer-in-Residence program, commissioning and premiering innovative works by emerging and local composers. We will also expand free and low-cost outreach concerts and collaborations with schools, churches, and community partners to ensure our programming remains accessible and community-centered.
With the support of Do More 24 Delaware, we are building a sustainable artistic home for exceptional choral music—one that elevates local artists, enriches Wilmington’s cultural life, and inspires beauty and belonging across our community.
