Support SOAH – Speak Out Against Hate and help us make Delaware a safer, kinder place for everyone.
If we’re not speaking out against hate, we’re letting it grow. Your support helps us push back and build a community where every person feels seen, respected, and valued.
SOAH began two years ago here in Sussex County as a grassroots response to rising hate incidents. Since then, we've grown into a community-driven social justice organization working to educate, connect, and empower people across the Diamond State. We’re currently raising funds for student scholarships for young people who are taking a stand against bullying and hate in their schools. We’re also working to build a stronger, more dynamic website—so we can better reach and engage community members, leaders, clergy, businesses, law enforcement, and neighbors of all backgrounds, identities, and beliefs.
At SOAH, we believe in speaking out early, speaking out often, and working together to follow up on incidents of hate—partnering with anyone who shares our commitment to a more inclusive Delaware.
Our bi-monthly Community Meetings bring people together for learning, conversation, and action. We’ve hosted discussions with elected officials and community leaders about rising hate crimes, talked openly about the Confederate flag in Georgetown, and heard from local journalists about how media shapes public understanding. We also screened Not In Our Town, a powerful film about one community that chose unity over hate, followed by a lively conversation with Radio Rehoboth’s Jeff Balk.
Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. SOAH regularly partners with organizations like the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice, CAMP Rehoboth, Sussex Pride, Anti-Violence Delaware, the ACLU, local faith leaders, and others to host Peace Week forums and other community events focused on anti-hate and anti-bias work. Looking ahead, our Anti-Hate/Anti-Bias Film Festival in January 2026 will spotlight stories from marginalized communities and spark meaningful dialogue after each screening.
SOAH’s five Action Committees are active across the county, meeting with clergy, police and school officials, business leaders, and legislators. We’ve spoken out through Letters to the Editor and local news interviews whenever hate threatens our community—always pushing for the right people to take action.
This summer, we launched our “Hate Has No Home Here” initiative to spread the message statewide and make “No Hate Here” more than a slogan—it’s a goal we’re committed to reaching.
We are a member-funded organization, and your support truly matters. No donation is too small. Every contribution helps us grow our programs and move Delaware closer to becoming a model “No Place for Hate” state.

Speak Out Against Hate (SOAH)
SOAH seeks to engage in this effort with all people of good faith; community leaders, businesses, elected officials, clergy, law enforcement personnel, young and old, regardless of color, creed, sexual orientation, national origin or religion. SOAH will speak out early, often and follow-up on the rising incidents and expressions of hate and join forces in this effort with all similarly motivated individuals and organizations. We will insist that those in positions to execute policies and regulations speak out and develop strategies for legislation and policies to prevent this hateful and potentially destructive behavior. Our goal is to make “No hate here” a reality in Delaware. All who are against hate are welcome to join SOAH.
