Founded in 1973, Delaware Humanities strengthens our communities by connecting Delawareans through our shared human experiences. We are Delaware’s independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Our Speakers give public talks and classroom presentations on history, culture, literature, ethics, the environment, and everything in between, enriching the lives of Delawareans by providing free opportunities for learning right in their own communities.

Our roster of Speakers is made up of scholars, authors, historians, educators, artists, and others, all chosen not only for their expertise but also for their ability to connect with people of all ages. More than a hundred Speakers events take place each year at libraries, senior centers, schools, community centers, and other organizations across our state. 
About Delaware Humanities

Delaware Humanities provides program services and funding opportunities to cultural, educational, and civic institutions statewide for projects and public events that enhance our understanding of who we are, where we’ve been, and where we are going as individuals, communities, and citizens of Delaware.

Our program services provide Speakers, Prime Time Family Reading, Conversation Leaders, exhibits, and toolkits to organizations throughout the state.
