We started Spotlight Delaware as an independent, collaborative, community-generated newsroom to build the future of local news and ensure that all Delaware communities have access to the stories that impact their daily lives. We believe access to news and resources should be free to all. To that end, we deliver paywall-free investigative journalism focused on education, land use policy/environmental justice, and government transparency and accountability to our newsletter subscribers 5 days/week and make all of our journalism available for free on our website and to our newsroom partners.

We are collaborative, partnering with local news leaders and newsrooms to establish the stories most in demand, and we are community-powered, prioritizing the interests of our communities by providing unbiased coverage of the issues of greatest importance and empowering individuals to participate in democratic and civic practices.
