The Sussex County Health Coalition (SCHC) is dedicated to strengthening communities, promoting health equity, and improving the well-being of families across Sussex County.
For over 17 years, we have been a trusted leader in health education, prevention efforts, and community support, ensuring that individuals and families have access to critical health resources, education, and advocacy.
What We Do:
✅ Community Health Education – We invest $15,000+ annually in wellness programs, empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools to live healthier lives.
✅ Substance Use Prevention & Awareness – Through Delaware Goes Purple, school-based programs, and community workshops, we address opioid misuse, prescription drug safety, and stigma reduction.
✅ Mental Health & Behavioral Support – We offer resources, training, and advocacy to expand access to mental health services for children, families, and individuals.
✅ Community Health Worker (CHW) Training – Over 189 individuals have received free CHW training, creating a stronger healthcare workforce to serve Sussex County.
✅ Youth & Family Support Initiatives – From school-based prevention programs to partnerships with Delaware Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS), we provide $20,000+ in prevention education annually.
✅ Health Literacy & Food Security – We support SNAP-Ed initiatives, health literacy programs, and workforce development to remove barriers to well-being.
