The Delaware Black Student Coalition (DBSC) is an entirely student-led organization dedicated to the advancement of Black students in Delaware. With all 7 of the co-founders being high school students. DBSC consists of middle school, high school, and college students and is growing at a rapid rate! With the money raised from this fundraiser, DBSC will be able to purchase the necessary items in order to proceed along with our overall mission and goal of being students that support students. The world in which we live is entirely virtual at this point in time and it is nearly impossible to create a program without a fully functional website, zoom account, and other resources that full-time high-school students can't purchase. In addition to this, the coalition is doing important work within the state and we do not plan on stopping anytime soon. These funds are going to help us advertise the initiatives we have been working on such as working with state legislators on a bill that will ensure that Black History and Culture will be taught in the DE public school system. Other programs that the coalition hosts are educational workshops and informative panels which often require some financial backing in order to utilize the proper technology to function in an effective manner.
