Since 2018 The Warehouse has been addressing the urgent need for youth programs that promote positive opportunities, connections to trusted adults and develop the skills needed for success in school and work.
Deonta participated in programing at The Warehouse that gave him the support he needed to graduate from high school, attend a trade school, gain employment and work experience and most recently obtain a project engineer position with one of Wilmington’s largest regional building companies.
Help support teens like Deonta with programming that allows them to “Become Who They Are”.

About The Teen Warehouse
Mission: The Warehouse, an oasis in Northeast
Wilmington, was developed "For Teens, By Teens" and serves as an innovative, one-stop center serving youth ages 13 to 24.
Launched in 2018, The Teen Warehouse (TWH) has demonstrated success operating high quality training programs resulting in high employment rates. The Warehouse collaborates with over 140 youth-serving organizations. Programming is teen-driven and focuses on our pillars of recreation, education, arts, careers, and health.
The Warehouse is a dynamic space in Northeast Wilmington designed "for teens by teens" that provides our city’s youth with the tools and opportunities they need to become confident, courageous, and contributing young adults who will make a positive difference in our world.
For too long, Wilmington teens have been raised to believe they don’t have a voice, that their opinions don’t matter, and that their lives can’t change.
TWH is a safe space (physically and emotionally) where teens may seek refuge from the high crime and high poverty neighborhoods in which they reside. Using a comprehensive yet tailored approach rooted in the “voice” of our youth, TWH increases engagement and program commitment and helps youth to develop the skills, attitudes, knowledge, and behaviors necessary to increase employability skills, gain and retain employment, and obtain secondary/post-secondary educational credentials; thereby providing the “advantage’ they need to compete in an aggressive job market.
