Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader! - Let's Get Delaware Reading

I’m Kim Morton.

I’m fundraising for United Way of Delaware (UWDE).

As part of the United Way of Delaware family, we see firsthand how important early childhood literacy is for our kids. The early years lay the foundation for a child’s future, and research shows that kids who have access to quality early learning are 50% more likely to graduate high school and go on to build successful careers.

But here in Delaware, nearly 40% of children start kindergarten already behind. That means too many of our kids are struggling before they even get a fair chance to learn and grow. We can change that together and help today's readers grow into tomorrow's leaders.

By supporting United Way of Delaware’s Early Education Success initiative during Do More 24 Delaware, you’re helping to make sure all children, no matter where they live or their family’s income, have access to the tools and support they need to thrive. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference in a child’s life and strengthens our entire community.

Let’s give Delaware’s kids the strong start they deserve. Join me in making an impact. Thank you for reading!

About United Way of Delaware (UWDE)

Mission: At United Way of Delaware, we're answering the call to help our community thrive. We're working to ensure kids can read on grade level by third grade, support career and college success for youth, connect families to vital resources through Delaware 211, and empower individuals with the tools they need to achieve financial stability. It’s about creating lasting change that lifts up everyone, not just offering temporary fixes.

When you give to United Way of Delaware you are helping children and families. Whether it's a kindergartner who lacks the resources to learn remotely, or a family calling 2-1-1 seeking immediate shelter, United Way of Delaware has initiatives in the community that make an impact in the lives of real people.
